Lee Taper Crimp Reloading Die .45 ACP

Lee Taper Crimp Reloading Die .45 ACP
The Lee Taper Crimp Die .45 ACP, manufacturer part number 90785, is a separate hardened steel crimping die designed to apply a consistent, tapered crimp to the case mouth. It is intended for reloading .45 ACP cartridges and is also suitable for several other pistol and revolver calibres.
A taper crimp gradually reduces the diameter of the case mouth without creating the pronounced inward roll associated with a roll crimp. This is particularly important for cartridges such as .45 ACP, which headspace on the case mouth.
Separately Adjustable Taper Crimp
The Lee Taper Crimp Die allows the crimp to be adjusted independently of bullet seating. This makes it possible to perform bullet seating and case mouth crimping as two separate operations.
Manufactured from hardened steel, the die features a standard 7/8"-14 thread and is compatible with most conventional reloading presses.
Suitable for Multiple Calibres
The Lee Taper Crimp Die 90785 is suitable for the following calibres:
- .45 ACP (.45 Auto)
- .45 Auto Rim
- .45 Schofield
- .455 Webley Mark II
- .45 Winchester Magnum
- .45 GAP

Difference from the Lee Carbide Factory Crimp Die
The Lee Taper Crimp Die is designed to apply a tapered crimp to the case mouth. The Lee Carbide Factory Crimp Die combines this function with a carbide sizing ring that can post-size the loaded cartridge.
The separate Taper Crimp Die allows the crimp to be adjusted independently of the bullet seating die. This is particularly useful when bullet seating and crimping are performed as separate operations.
Note: For cartridges such as .45 ACP that headspace on the case mouth, excessive crimping must be avoided. Check finished cartridge dimensions against reliable reloading data and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
