Image Quality and Night Vision Performance
The PARD Night Stalker 5K eX features a high-resolution CMOS image sensor with 4096 × 3024 pixels. This high sensor resolution provides detailed digital imaging, allowing smaller details to remain clearly visible.
The sensor offers a light sensitivity of 0.001 lux and supports a 60 Hz refresh rate. Combined with the 1.03-inch OLED display featuring a resolution of 2560 × 2560 pixels, this provides sharp and smooth digital image reproduction.
The scope is suitable for daytime use and low-light conditions. In complete darkness, a compatible external infrared illuminator can provide additional illumination.
Optics and Magnification
The 50 mm version offers a magnification range of 4–16×. Thanks to its lower base magnification, this version provides a wider field of view than the 70 mm model, allowing users to observe a larger area of their surroundings.
The horizontal field of view is approximately 12 metres at a distance of 100 metres. This makes the 50 mm version particularly suitable for users looking for a balance between magnification and situational awareness.
By comparison, the 70 mm version offers a higher magnification range of 5.5–22×, but a narrower field of view of approximately 8.6 metres at 100 metres. Choosing between the two versions therefore mainly depends on the preferred magnification and field of view.
Integrated Laser Rangefinder
The PARD Night Stalker 5K eX features a laser rangefinder (LRF) with a measuring range of up to 1,000 metres. The rangefinder is integrated directly into the objective lens assembly, eliminating the need for a separate LRF module mounted on top of the scope.
This integrated design maintains a streamlined appearance while allowing distances to be measured directly through the scope.
Infrared Illumination – 850 nm or 940 nm
The PARD Night Stalker 5K eX supports external infrared illumination with wavelengths of 850 nm or 940 nm. Both wavelengths are compatible with the scope.
- 850 nm: Generally provides a longer effective illumination range when comparing similar infrared illuminators. A faint red glow may be visible at the light source.
- 940 nm: Produces a less visible infrared light source. With comparable illuminators, the effective illumination range is generally shorter than with 850 nm.
IR Illuminator Mounting Options
The Night Stalker 5K eX offers different options for mounting an external infrared illuminator:
- PARD IR illuminator: A compatible PARD infrared illuminator can be mounted directly on top of the scope.
- Alternative IR illuminator: A suitable third-party infrared illuminator can be attached using a compatible mounting bracket fitted to the 30 mm scope tube.
This flexibility allows users to select an IR illuminator according to their preferred illumination range and application without being limited to the original PARD lighting system.
Important: Infrared illumination must be selected separately. When using an alternative IR illuminator, ensure that the mounting bracket is compatible with the 30 mm scope tube and the diameter of the illuminator.
Operation and Additional Features
The PARD Night Stalker 5K eX combines the familiar appearance of a traditional riflescope with modern digital features. The Picture-in-Picture (PiP) function allows a magnified section of the image to be displayed while maintaining an overview of the surrounding area.
The integrated ballistic calculator provides additional assistance when determining the aiming point. The scope also features photo and video recording functions, including recoil-activated recording.
WiFi connectivity and available connections, including HDMI and USB-C, provide additional options for connectivity and data transfer.
Power Supply and Operating Time
The Night Stalker 5K eX uses a dual power supply consisting of a built-in 21700 battery and a replaceable 18650 battery. This combination provides an operating time of up to approximately 6 hours, depending on the functions used and operating conditions.
