The Niebling wool brush is designed for the final stage of barrel cleaning. While a suitable cleaning brush is used to loosen fouling, the wool brush is used afterwards to pick up loosened residue, oil and remaining cleaning products from inside the barrel.

The soft and absorbent wool provides good contact with the inside of the barrel. This makes the brush particularly useful for wiping the barrel clean and dry after a more thorough cleaning.

What is a wool brush used for?

A wool brush serves a different purpose from a bronze or nylon brush. It is not primarily intended for loosening stubborn deposits, but for the final stages of barrel maintenance.

After cleaning, the wool brush can be passed through the barrel to pick up loosened fouling and excess cleaning product. It can also be used to apply a thin, even layer of gun oil inside the barrel, for example before storing the firearm for a longer period.

M4 male thread

The Niebling wool brush features an M4 male thread. This allows it to be attached to a suitable cleaning rod or adapter with a matching M4 connection. Always check that the thread of the cleaning rod or adapter is compatible before use.

Available for multiple calibres

The Niebling wool brush is available in different sizes for calibres ranging from .22 to 12 GA. Select the version that matches the calibre of your firearm. Choosing the correct size ensures good contact with the inside of the barrel, allowing the wool to effectively pick up fouling, oil and cleaning product residue.
