N170 powder from Vihtavuori is the slowest burning powder in the N100 series and even one of the slowest burning of all powder brands you can find. Like all Vihtavuori rifle powder, this powder is also tubular-shaped and has a length of 1.7mm and a diameter of 1.1mm, making it a relatively large grain.
Because N170 is a slow-burning powder, it is the perfect choice in combination with cartridges with a large cartridge capacity. Cartridges such as .300 Weatherby Mag. and the .300 Remington Ultra Magnum load very well with N170 powder and give excellent results. N170 powder is mainly used for sports shooters who shoot at long distances and hunters who hunt large and large game.
