7.62 mm / .30 Big Bore break-barrel

One of the main features that sets the Hatsan Carnivore 135 apart from conventional break-barrel air rifles is its 7.62 mm / .30 calibre. This large calibre uses considerably heavier pellets than the more common 4.5, 5.5 and 6.35 mm calibres.

The Carnivore is a single-shot air rifle. Breaking the barrel down cocks the Vortex system, after which a 7.62 mm pellet can be loaded directly into the barrel.

Vortex Gas Ram

Instead of a conventional steel mainspring, this version uses Hatsan's Vortex Gas Ram. With this system, energy is stored using compressed gas rather than a traditional coil spring.

The Vortex system provides a powerful and direct firing cycle. As there is no conventional steel mainspring, there is also no traditional spring that can fatigue when kept under tension for longer periods.

QuietEnergy integrated sound moderator

The QE designation stands for Hatsan's QuietEnergy technology. The barrel is fully shrouded and incorporates an integrated sound moderator. According to Hatsan, this system can reduce the muzzle report by approximately 50%.

A powerful gas ram air rifle will naturally still produce mechanical noise during the firing cycle. QuietEnergy is therefore primarily designed to reduce the sound produced at the muzzle.

Turkish walnut stock

This allows the air rifle to be used with its open sights straight out of the box.

Scope mounting rail

For shooters who prefer to use a scope, the Carnivore 135 features a combination mounting rail suitable for 11 mm and 22 mm mounts.

A scope stop is also fitted. This is particularly important on a powerful gas ram air rifle, as the strong firing cycle can place considerable stress on a scope and its mounts. We therefore recommend using a scope and mounting system designed for powerful spring-piston and gas ram air rifles.

Safety

The Hatsan 135 series incorporates several safety features. In addition to a manual safety, an automatic safety is engaged during cocking. An anti-beartrap mechanism helps prevent the action from closing unexpectedly during loading.
