Hatsan Torpedo 155 5.5 mm Underlever Air Rifle with Walnut Stock

Hatsan Torpedo 155 5.5 mm Underlever Air Rifle
The Hatsan Torpedo 155 5.5 mm is a powerful underlever air rifle featuring a fixed barrel and a genuine Turkish walnut stock. Unlike a conventional break-barrel air rifle, the barrel remains permanently in position during cocking. The rifle is cocked using the underlever beneath the barrel, after which the pellet is loaded through the separate loading system.
Hatsan has equipped the Torpedo 155 with several of its well-known features, including the adjustable Quattro Trigger, SAS Shock Absorber System and TRIOPAD system. The combination of a powerful spring system, fixed barrel and robust construction makes the Torpedo 155 an interesting choice for shooters looking for a traditional high-powered underlever air rifle.
Fixed barrel with underlever cocking system
One of the key features of the Hatsan Torpedo 155 is its fixed barrel. Instead of using the barrel itself to cock the rifle, a separate lever positioned underneath the barrel is used. This means the barrel remains permanently in the same position in relation to the sights and any mounted scope.
After cocking, the pellet is inserted through the separate loading system. This allows Hatsan to combine a traditional mechanical spring-powered action with the advantages of a fixed-barrel design.
Powerful 5.5 mm version
This Torpedo 155 is chambered in 5.5 mm / .22 calibre. This popular calibre uses heavier pellets than 4.5 mm and is well suited to the power produced by the Torpedo 155.
Hatsan specifies a maximum muzzle velocity of approximately 305 m/s for the 5.5 mm version. Actual velocity will vary depending on factors such as pellet weight and shape.
Turkish walnut stock
The Torpedo 155 features a genuine Turkish walnut stock with a Monte Carlo cheekpiece. The natural wood gives this substantial underlever air rifle a traditional appearance that complements its mechanical design.
Checkering on the grip and fore-end provides additional grip and control when handling and shooting the rifle.
Quattro Trigger
The Quattro Trigger is Hatsan's adjustable two-stage trigger system. It allows the trigger characteristics to be adjusted to better suit the shooter's personal preference. The Torpedo 155 also features a distinctive gold-coloured metal trigger blade.
SAS Shock Absorber System
The SAS Shock Absorber System is designed to reduce vibration generated during the firing cycle. This is particularly useful on a powerful spring-powered air rifle, where considerable mechanical forces are produced with each shot.
The system contributes to a more controlled shooting experience and helps reduce stress on the rifle and a suitable mounted scope.
TRIOPAD system
At the rear of the stock, the Torpedo 155 features Hatsan's TRIOPAD system. The rubber butt pad is designed to make the felt recoil of this powerful air rifle more comfortable.
Three TRIOPAD spacers are also supplied. These allow the length of the stock to be adjusted to better suit the shooter's build and preferred shooting position.
TRUGLO open sights
The Hatsan Torpedo 155 can be used without a scope thanks to its factory-fitted TRUGLO fibre-optic sights. The rear sight is adjustable for both windage and elevation and features green fibre-optic elements, while the front sight uses a red fibre-optic element.
Suitable for mounting a scope
For shooters who prefer an optical sight, the Torpedo 155 features a combination mounting rail suitable for 11 mm and 22 mm mounts.
A scope stop is also fitted. Due to the strong firing cycle of the Torpedo 155, we recommend using a scope and mounting system specifically designed for powerful spring-piston and gas ram air rifles.
Safety
The Torpedo 155 features both a manual safety and an automatic safety that is engaged during cocking. It is also equipped with an anti-beartrap mechanism, which helps prevent the action from closing unexpectedly during loading.
Bipod included
Hatsan supplies the Torpedo 155 with a bipod. Sling attachment points are also provided on the stock and fore-end.
