AirForce Texan SS – Big Bore PCP Airgun with Sound-Loc

Product description

AirForce Texan SS

The AirForce Texan SS is a powerful big-bore PCP airgun that combines the well-known Texan platform with a shorter barrel and AirForce’s integrated Sound-Loc system. This keeps the overall package relatively compact while retaining the capability to shoot heavy pellets and slugs in large calibres.

The rifle is built around the characteristic AirForce aluminium frame and uses a Lothar Walther barrel. The Texan SS is available in several big-bore calibres and features a straightforward single-shot action, sidelever cocking system and adjustable power.

Sound-Loc system

The main difference between the Texan SS and the standard Texan is the Sound-Loc system. The 24.75-inch barrel is partially enclosed by an extended shroud designed to reduce muzzle noise.

This construction keeps the Texan SS relatively compact for a big-bore PCP airgun while still retaining a long precision barrel.

Lothar Walther barrel

AirForce equips the Texan SS with a Lothar Walther barrel. The German barrel manufacturer is well known for producing precision barrels for sporting and accuracy-focused firearms and airguns.

The barrel measures 24.75 inches, or approximately 629 mm. Depending on the version, the Texan SS is available in several big-bore calibres.

Single-shot action

The Texan SS uses a single-shot loading system. A pellet or slug is inserted directly into the loading port, after which the rifle is cocked using the sidelever.

The large loading area provides enough room for heavy and longer projectiles, making the Texan SS suitable for a wide range of big-bore airgun ammunition.

Adjustable power

The power output of the AirForce Texan SS can be adjusted to suit the projectile being used. This allows shooters to test different pellet and slug weights and find a suitable balance between velocity, air consumption and accuracy.

Actual performance depends on calibre, projectile weight and the selected power setting.

490 cc air tank

The Texan SS is fitted with a 490 cc air tank. The maximum fill pressure of the standard aluminium-tank version is 200 bar / 3000 psi.

The air tank is a distinctive part of the AirForce design and is positioned directly behind the frame.

Adjustable two-stage trigger

The Texan SS features a two-stage trigger with an adjustable position. This allows the trigger setup to be better matched to the shooter’s preferred hand position.

The rifle is also fitted with an automatic safety that engages when the action is cocked.
